Hi! Thanks for considering Central Coast Grip and Lighting for your film production equipment rental. I founded this company in 2023 with the goal of empowering filmmakers and bolstering the film scene in the Santa Barbara area and the surrounding counties.

As someone who works in the Santa Barbara film scene, it always frustrated me that I, or the production, had to drive down to Los Angeles to rent production equipment. It took too much time and money to do the round trip so frequently. I thought, "why isn't there a rental house in Santa Barbara?" and here we are.

I am a proud life-long Santa Barbara resident. I attended Westmont College where I earned my B.A. in Music with a speciality in Vocal Performance. In my journey as a performer, I was always intrigued by what happened behind the scenes. I began working in stagecraft as an Audio Technician: working as the FOH engineer at the Music Academy of the West, as well as managing FOH for Westmont College and other venues. I am a proud member of the IATSE Local 442 Stagehands, and I have worked professionally in the film industry as a DP, Camera Operator, and various G&E Capacities.

Bottom line, I know the struggles that the Santa Barbara film community faces, and this company is here to help build back what was the hub of filmmaking in the 1920s. My goal is to strengthen the creative arm of filmmaking professionals, film students, photographers, and independent storytellers.
